Why did you choose the USC MPH Online program?

I learned more about what an MPH offers by talking to advisors at USC, which made me realize my potential success and enjoyment of the program. I was also drawn to the prestige of the university and the convenience of taking classes online.

How did the scholarship help you to attend USC?

Relying on my own income at 22 years old to pay for tuition can be stressful, so the scholarship relieved some of the financial burden which helped me focus on my academics.

Tell us about your experience in the MPH Online program? What have been your favorite classes and experiences so far?

I love that the online program keeps its students engaged in the classes with different projects and plenty of student and faculty interactions. Health Service & Delivery in the U.S. has been one of my favorite classes so far. It was amazing to learn about the complexities of the U.S. health care system!

How do you see your degree affecting your next steps in public health?

This degree will open an abundance of career opportunities for me to pursue in the public health field. Along with my bachelor’s in psychology, I look forward to utilizing an MPH to make the best impact in public health.

Are you currently working, interning, or volunteering? If so, where?

I have been a water polo referee for 5 years now. I am currently applying for internships at the County of Orange, specifically for their health care agency.
