Department of Population and Public Health Sciences

The Department of Preventive Medicine at Keck School of Medicine of USC is known as a leader in public health and population health sciences. Organized into six divisions — Disease Prevention and Global Health, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, Environmental Health, and Health Behavior Research — the Department of Preventive Medicine performs pioneering research in areas such as tobacco control, breast cancer, pediatric obesity, global health, interaction between genes and the environment and others. Key research institutes include the Institute for Global Health and the Institute for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research.
